Democratizing the University: “How to Have a Say: Labor and Social Movements Negotiate with the University.”
Time: February 22, 430-6pm.
Place: Swift Hall, Common Room
Sponsored by: AAUP Advocacy chapter (firstname.lastname@example.org)
On Monday February 22, 430-6pm. there will be a second event in the Democratizing the University series that started last autumn. This event, which is sponsored by the AAUP advocacy chapter, will be a panel discussion entitled “How to Have a Say: Labor and Social Movements Negotiate with the University.” Following up on the AAUP’s letter of support for the Faculty Forward initiative, the panel is meant to show our continued support for the non-tenure-track faculty and the Harper Schmitt fellows who voted to form a union as well as for other democratizing efforts under way like the graduate student unionization. There will be input from Faculty Forward, GSU, Trauma Care Coalition, Fair Budget Uchicago, AAUP, and other interested partners and allies.
Please spread the word, invite your colleagues, and join us for a lively panel on February 22, 430-6pm. in Swift Hall, Common Room.
